Two Project Zomboid Mods That Kill the Crafting Grind

Build 42 crafting is deep. It is also a lot of clicking.

Saw one log. Right-click. Saw the next log. Twelve logs later you have planks and a sore wrist. Want a Simple Furnace? Now you're flipping between the build menu and the wiki, working out that you need a trowel, 40 stone blocks, and a bucket of clay cement, then what each of those takes.

These two mods fix that. Both are free and built for multiplayer.

Craft Whole Stack

Craft Whole Stack

Right-click a stack and every recipe gets an (All N) option. N is how many you can actually make right now, counting your tools, your materials, and what you can carry.

Saw Log (All 12) in the right-click menu

Pick it and walk away. Your character works through the whole pile. Move to cancel, same as any other action.

It only appears on recipes the game already allows in batches, and it runs through the same system as the crafting window's quantity box, so the server still checks every craft.

Craft Planner

Pick anything you want to build and get the whole plan, down to raw materials.

Hit Track next to Craft or Build in the crafting and build windows, or press K and search.

The Track button in the build window

Every plan has three lists:

  • Tools. What you need to hold. None of it gets used up. Missing one? It names the recipe that makes it, and one click plans that too.
  • Gather. Raw materials as have/need, missing items on top.
  • Steps. Every craft in order, ending with the thing you wanted.

A plan for a Simple Furnace and a wooden crate

It counts what's in your bag and nearby containers first, so it only asks for what you're actually short. Quantities scale with the recipe: 4 planks at 3 per log means 2 logs. Build the thing and it drops off your list.
